A bit of talk about cleaning today so I thought I'd show you my secret weapon

cleaning cloths aka dish cloths
Why do I love them you ask. 1. They are textured. Makes scrubbing easier. 2. They last forever. 3. They are cheap. You can find them at $2 shops. 4. They have been around for ages. 5. Very easy to wash. 6. They shit all over microfibre cloths for cleaning.

ohhhhh i have been rather dissatisfied about the microfibre i've been using because after a while it just smudges dust everywhere

i was going to dust before going out, now i'll pop over to the little shop first and see if they have cloths

You spray on these or dip them in soapy water. You clean then wipe off and buff with the microfibre.

i always soak with soapy water but microfibre is not very good with that esp after a few uses

Yes correct. Always think of microfibre as a drying cloth rather than a cleaner. They have their place though. Old socks are the best for dust because they're usually lint free when you're ready to throw them out. Put one on your hand, spray it, wipe over surface then dry the surface with a microfibre.

didn’t know they are best at drying. Will do. Thank you.

oh yeah I use old socks to shine shoes

Thanks for the tip, will give them a go. For dusting I use a fluffy wool stick duster to brush down surfaces and skirting boards, then vacuum. Give the duster a bit of a whack outside to dislodge the dust. It’s not perfect but it’s quick and good enough 90% of the time.

I have 2 dusters. One for the cobwebs and I have another separate one for the TV.
