This looks amazing!

We cannot wait to be terrified and exploring the depths, possibly in multiplayer this time (if the trailer is anything to go by).

https://thingsiplay.game.blog/2024/10/19/showcase-for-retroarch-shaders-2024/

I finally managed to write another blog post. Screenshots made with Shaders on RetroArch and crops are compared. Shaders are those effects to recreate CRT look or other special effects. RetroArch is the emulator suite I use on PC. Its several pages long and compares images in various resolutions as well. Maybe you can find your favorite Shader this way. Or you get introduced to the topic. Hope it helps. Have a great rest of your day.

Tbh every time this project was mentioned I assumed it was a PVP thing. I'm WAY more interested knowing it's a co-op thing!

I played this while I was growing up on the PS2, and being a huge fan of the film, I had an absolute blast every time I rented it.

The video rightfully points out how damned clunky it was, but I really appreciated how different it was from most other games I'd played up to that point.

Hey!

I found out that Steam announces their next sales almost a year in advance. After discovering this, I started looking for a service that allows me to see the next steam sales right in my calendar. However, I couldn't find anything, so I quickly spun up a solution of my own.

It's basically just a Rust project that generates a '.ics' file from the latest information (manually entered, as I couldn't find an API for this). The repository also hosts a workflow that automatically builds the file after an update.

You can add this to your own calendar using the following URL: steam_sales.ics.

Hope someone finds this useful.

Quite a good list, although without any real surprises, except for the cheeky inclusion of a recent fan-made PC port. I'm glad Kerbal Space Program is on it, but a few other personal favorites (and candidates for best game of all time) are absent, like The Talos Principle, BeamNG.drive, NEO Scavenger, World of Goo, Mafia, Machinarium and Gothic II. Jets'n'Guns - a very early Indie masterpiece of a 2D space shooter - as well, but it's a bit too obscure for these kinds of lists. I'll stop here before I accidentally create my own top 100.

Are your favorite PC games well-represented by this list?

Don't want to do spam! but we are a small studio and we are trying to get a bit of attention to our next game, its an inventory management auto battler set in a world of sci fi parodies of big franchises, so if anyone wants to give it a try it will be really appreciated. Thank you guys! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2994150/Konfronto/

We have just been working on the game for the last five-six months after our last game was cancelled so it can be a bit rough around the edges but we think its a fair bit of fun so hopefully you can enjoy it too

TL:DW Steam has now changed its language from buy game to A purchase of a digital product grants a licence to the product on steam. This may also be non compliant with the new regulation as it still uses the word purchase. Also GOG used this opportunity to let you know their games come with an installer that they cannot take away from you.

As the title suggests: I've had it with open worlds with dozens of things to do and checklists to complete. What are your favorite, delightfully simple, linear games?

This question is sparked by the discussion in the Final Fantasy thread, were I disclosed that I actually kind of like XIII because of its linearity. Other linear favorites of mine include: Half-Life series, Portal series, Uncharted series, some COD campaigns, Undertale, Journey, Super Mario 3D World, Plague Tale, Spec Ops: The Line

A shout out to A Way Out in the co-op catergory!

With Google's assault on Invidious leaving it inoperable, consider watching this video with FreeTube, a nifty open source program that lets you watch youtube videos privately!

Combined with Libredirect, which automatically opens youtube links in Freetube, it becomes really slick and effortless to use.
